consequences

slashed wrists and bloodshed
unintended consequences.

how did something so good and right
turn to something so bad and wrong.

it’s not a question.

no recovery in sight
blinders off
sea legs firmly planted
stubbornly defiant
and unwilling to toss aside
this rational
cynicism.

i am adamantly refusing to believe.

** note to any readers… it’s only a metaphor.
